Privacy Policy

FreeVPN ("we", "our", "us") operates the FreeVPN mobile application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

By using our Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide:

• No account creation is required. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or payment information.

1.2 Automatically collected information:

• Device identifier: A randomly generated unique ID stored locally on your device, used solely to manage your VPN connection session. This ID is not linked to your identity.
• Connection metadata: Timestamps of VPN connections and disconnections, server region selected, and session duration. This data is used to maintain service quality and prevent abuse.
• Aggregate bandwidth usage: Total data transferred per session (not the content of your traffic).

1.3 What we do NOT collect:

• We do not log your browsing activity, DNS queries, or the content of your internet traffic.
• We do not store your originating IP address after the VPN session ends.
• We do not monitor, record, or inspect the data passing through our VPN servers.
• We do not collect or store any passwords, financial data, or personally identifiable information.

2. No-Logs Policy

We operate under a strict no-logs policy. We do not log, track, or store any of the following:

• Websites you visit or content you access
• Your IP address after disconnection
• DNS requests
• Traffic data or packet contents

Connection metadata (timestamps, server region, session duration) is retained for a maximum of 30 days for service quality purposes and is automatically deleted thereafter.

3. How We Use Information

The limited information we collect is used exclusively for:

• Establishing and maintaining your VPN connection
• Managing server capacity and load balancing
• Preventing abuse of the Service (e.g., excessive connections)
• Improving service performance and reliability

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

4. VPN & Encryption

Our Service uses the WireGuard protocol to encrypt your internet traffic between your device and our VPN servers. WireGuard uses state-of-the-art cryptography including Curve25519 for key exchange, ChaCha20 for encryption, and Poly1305 for authentication.

While our VPN encrypts traffic between your device and our servers, we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet beyond our servers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services you access through the VPN.

5. Third-Party Services

Our Service may use the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google): Used for backend infrastructure and cloud functions. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Apple App Store: Distribution and in-app purchases are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

We do not integrate third-party advertising or tracking SDKs in our application.

6. Data Storage & Security

• VPN cryptographic keys are stored securely in the iOS Keychain on your device.
• Connection metadata is stored on secured servers with restricted access.
• We implement industry-standard security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction of data.

7. User Rights

You have the right to:

• Access any data we hold related to your device identifier
• Request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us
• Opt out by simply uninstalling the application — no residual data is kept beyond the 30-day retention period

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. Lawful Use

The Service is intended for lawful use only. You agree not to use the VPN for any illegal activity. We reserve the right to terminate access to users who violate applicable laws or our Terms of Service.

We may cooperate with law enforcement authorities if required by a valid court order or legal obligation under applicable jurisdiction. However, due to our no-logs policy, the data we can provide is strictly limited to connection metadata as described in Section 1.2.

9. Age Restriction

The Service is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a child, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

10. Disclaimer of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• Protection against all security threats
• That the Service will meet all of your requirements

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service (if any).

You acknowledge that no VPN service can guarantee absolute anonymity or security. You are solely responsible for your online activities.

11. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from this policy shall be resolved in the competent courts of the jurisdiction in which we operate.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
